🏰 Where Is the Biggest Castle?
Long ago, castles were built as homes for kings and queens—and as strong forts to protect people inside. They were made of stone, had tall towers, and were surrounded by walls to keep enemies out.
Some castles were small with just a few rooms. Others were huge with hundreds of rooms, secret tunnels, and big dining halls. The biggest castle in the world is called Malbork Castle, and it’s in Poland. It has so many bricks, it looks like a red LEGO set from far away!
Castles were built with strong walls, tall towers, and moats—deep ditches filled with water. Some had drawbridges that lifted up to keep people out. Every part had a job: to protect, to store food, or to give people a safe place to live.
Today, castles aren’t used for battles, but many still stand. People visit them as museums, and some even stay in them as hotels!
Did You Know?
The word “castle” comes from a Latin word that means “fortress.”
🧠Your Challenge:
Design the tallest castle or a castle with the most rooms. What materials will you use—blocks, paper, or clay? Think about where people would sleep, eat, and stay safe. Don’t forget the towers!
