We’re so excited to be offering Friday FREEBIES to teachers, but first, let’s talk about self-care.
Last night, I saw a teacher friend who shared on social media that she didn’t go to sleep until 1 am because she was lesson planning! Teaching during this season is stressful, and we want to help you manage that stress.

That’s one of the reasons why I teamed up to offer you some Friday FREEBIES! We also want to share some tips on managing your stress so you can avoid burnout.
1. Get some rest!

When you’re stressed, your body needs more sleep. It’s okay to go to sleep early. If you’ve got small children, ask your partner to put them to bed for you.
As a military wife, I know that sometimes that’s not an option. Instead, try to put your kids down early or take naps with your child on the weekend.
If you’re really struggling, ask a trusted family member or friend to watch your child so you can nap for a few hours.
2. Turn your phone off!

It’s so difficult to unplug since we are so connected. I love walking! One day, I went for a walk, and I couldn’t enjoy my walk because I kept getting dings and pings from work on my watch and phone. Every ding brought a little more stress.
The best feature on my iPhone is my “Do Not Disturb” button. Find one to two hours per day to turn that button on. Try not to worry about missing anything; it’ll be there waiting for you when you decide to turn it back on.
If you’re concerned about a family member or your child’s daycare trying to reach you for an emergency, you can adjust the settings so important people can reach you.
3. Set boundaries.

This is the hardest thing for me to do because I have a hard time saying NO! But here’s the deal, you’re not going to lose friends by saying no because real friends will respect your boundaries. Respect your boundaries. You have permission to say no, and I guarantee you’ll feel proud when you do!
4. Snack on healthy foods.

When you’re tired, you are more prone to eat carbs. Eating too many carbs will actually slow you down. They tend to make you feel more tired, bloated, and sluggish. Instead of packing carbs in your lunchbox, try packing more fruits and vegetables. They’ll give you more energy and keep you feeling fresh.
