Jungle Gym STEM Challenge for Kids

🌴 What’s the Biggest Jungle in the World?

The biggest jungle on Earth is the Amazon Rainforest—and it’s huge! It covers parts of nine countries in South America and is home to millions of plants, animals, and insects.

Jungles are warm, wet places filled with tall trees, thick vines, and all kinds of living things. But when we hear the word jungle gym, we’re not talking about the rainforest—we’re talking about something you can climb on!

A jungle gym is a playground structure made for climbing, hanging, and swinging. It might have bars, ropes, ladders, or even bridges. Jungle gyms help kids build strength, balance, and courage.

To be safe, a jungle gym must be strong and stable. It needs to hold weight and stay steady while kids play. Engineers test the points (places where kids climb or grip) and make sure nothing can tip or snap.

Did You Know?

The Amazon Rainforest is so big, it’s sometimes called “the lungs of the Earth” because it makes so much oxygen!

🧠 Your Challenge:

Design a jungle gym that has the most climbing points or can hold the most weight. Will it be tall, wide, or twisty? Think about what makes it fun and safe to explore!
